Hey Jim...What kind of repairs do you do?

I mostly do minor repairs on pianos. Fix sticky keys, reattach parts that have come off, dig stuff out of the action that is blocking keys. I find all kinds of things inside pianos. Golf tees, a lot of dust, spider webs, dead bugs and unfortunately on occasion I find evidence of mice.

This was a beautiful Yamaha Baby Grand piano. It was covered in dust. I cleaned it up for the client, tuned it and it turned out great!

I see all kinds of interesting things in homes I go to...loved the Moose!

After I cleaned the piano up...it looked awesome.

A couple days ago I was tuning a piano and ran into a problem with F4 and G4. When I played either key, both of them would play. Hmmmm. Started investigating and found a catcher on G4 had come off and fell into the action. I fished it out with needle nose pliers, glued it back in, tuned both keys and everything worked great.

At another customer last week she had three keys that were not playing the way they should. Looked into the action and found a petrified pretzel and an ancient white jelly bean blocking the hammers. I find old photos, postcards, coins, paper clips and lots of dust. I usually spend about 20 minutes cleaning a piano the first time I see it.
