Started off tuning a 2012 Knabe...which was made by Samick in Indonesia. Beautiful piano with tight pins which makes it a dream to tune. Can dial it in right where it needs to go.
But, the highlight of the day was St. Louis Symphony performance at Touhill last night. If you like pianos...listen to Beethoven's Piano Concert No. 4 online. Amazing piece with crescendos galore!
The star of the show was not Stefan the conductor or Paul Lewis the soloist...although both were top notch...it was the 9' Steinway Concert D grand piano. That piano is an amazing mechanical beast. North of $250,000 brand new, it has over 10,000 parts. Fills the hall with sound. That is the dream job for a piano tuner...tuning a 9 footer.
